COVID-19 PCR and antibody testing is available at all Health Express Urgent Care locations. COVID-19 testing requires an evaluation in our clinic or via virtual visit with one of our providers. You do not need a prior order from your doctor for testing at Health Express as our providers will evaluate, test, and provide COVID test results.
Do you need a COVID test now? Skip the lobby and exam room with an easy Virtual Screening! During your quick virtual visit, we’ll provide you with a number to call upon arrival at one of our 4 centers in Parma, North Ridgeville, Avon Lake, or Mayfield Heights. When you call, we’ll ask you to come through our designated COVID testing door, expediting your test!
A breakdown of COVID tests at Health Express Urgent Care:

- Rapid Antibody Test: test will not identify active cases, but does reveal proteins that develop after an infection. This test provides results in approx. 15 minutes. This test is helpful for people who may have been asymptomatic or for those with potential COVID exposure to return to work.

- PCR COVID Test: The nasopharyngeal swab PCR COVID test is the most complete for active cases. Results come back within 2-4 days. This test does not determine past infection.

Will my COVID test be covered by insurance?
Most insurance plans cover COVID testing and office visits and we accept most insurance plans. If you want to make sure your insurance plan will cover your test, we suggest contacting your insurance company as coverage is ultimately up to your insurance company. We collect your co-pay upon arrival and this amount will be refunded to you if your insurance covers your COVID visit and test. If you have additional specific questions, please contact our location closest to you and we will be happy to answer your questions.
